Greetings from Japan

Malcom was born at Ballard Swedish hospital which has, among other things, an included return visit at 3 days of age. The nurse checked in with us about breastfeeding, how Beth is feeling, his diaper activity, and his wieght.
Malcolm got his first bath today. We never got around to it at the hospital and for some reason he was pretty clean after the birth. The best part was getting rid of his mini-dreadlocks.
On Wednesday we came home from the hospital with our new baby. It felt really good to come home–familiar surroundings, our own bed, and most of all it just felt like we were finally our own family.
He’s here! The boy showed up Tuesday morning and is absolutely perfect (in my unbiased opinion). Since he arrived there has been much crying, little sleep, and amazement all around. I never really knew what it would be like when he finally arrived. He’s my son, and I’m so glad he’s here!
