Malcolm loves his bath!
Lest you think our boy is all sweetness and light…
I wanted to capture his varied moods, and he spends plenty of time in this kind of mood. But, he’s relatively easy to soothe, I guess, and doesn’t stay cranky for long. Especially if breast milk is offered in appeasement…

Malcolm got his first visit from a cousin last week: Karsten came to visit. Karsten is currently Malcolm’s favorite cousin. They hit it off really well as you can see. We had to ask if he had any children we didn’t know about because he was so good with Malcolm!
While not quite old enough to enjoy the wading pool, Malcolm likes to hang out poolside and play low-stakes backgammon with gullible 2 month olds.
Beth’s friend Ann gave Malcolm a nice hawaiian outfit that fits him perfectly right now. He likes to look his best, even with 3 chins.
Well, she thinks she does, but Mama Lesley is just tormenting her. She’s strictly breastmilk still. We can’t wait till mom lets her go face down in the fruit!

Spoon? Who needs a spoon?

How many pieces of corn would you like, Alexander? He knows it’s OK to answer more than one! When did he get teeth?

Malcolm started smiling last week. They’re a bit tought to capture on film as yet.

Smiling is hard work. Time to eat.

I am ready to come home.

So today, Edith Mukisa, the Director of the clinic where I have been working met with the Ugandan Minister of Health to discuss the AIDS resources being provided by the Bush Administration through USAID. I realize my current situation is adding fuel to my fire but I have never been more disappointed and angry with our government nor more embarrassed to be from the States.
