Well the impending visit has the whole nation in a tizzy. US troops have taken over the airport (luckily I fly out the day before Bush arrives), security is everywhere and the local papers are full of editorials about the visit. Savior or showman?

Yesterday was 24 hours of no work and lots of play. I have not gotten on Ugandan time at all, so in the 108 hours since I left Seattle I think I may have slept around 20. Yesterday I awoke at 3am and stayed that way until this morning at 8am. In-between was some serious fun.

All is well is this remarkable country. My concerns about safety and whatnot seem pretty silly right now.

We are working very hard. Given the short amount of time here we are packing in as much we can each day. The clinic is so busy during the day that we feel a little underfoot. Hard to interrupt somebody who is helping a youth who may have spent the family’s $$ for the month just to get here.
