Mom with Malcolm

Tuesday, January 27th, 2004

I’m really enjoying spending more time with Malcolm. It is incredible to observe and be a part of the constant development, especially as he becomes more verbal. His first consonant sound is ma ma ma ma ma. He doesn’t associate it with me yet, but I like to pretend that he does.

We trudged though the snow with Malcolm to the green grocer down the street to get hot chocolate makings. The Boy was bundled up in the jogger thinking about mini-marshmallows the whole way home.

And the cars going by, and basically anything that moves. This is part of Malcolm’s naptime routine as he heads upstairs. He loves looking out the window. If it were up to him, part of the naptime routine would involve banging his head against the window, but we decided that was not OK.

It’s Snowing!

Tuesday, January 6th, 2004

Hey, we got snow! It doesn’t happen very often here, and usually when they predict snow, it ends up as rain. But today we got about 4 inches. It shut the city down–I didn’t have to go to the office. So we went out and played in the snow!
