3-day checkup
Malcom was born at Ballard Swedish hospital which has, among other things, an included return visit at 3 days of age. The nurse checked in with us about breastfeeding, how Beth is feeling, his diaper activity, and his wieght.
Since mom’s milk usually doesn’t come in for 3 days or so, all babies lose weight after they are born. After 3 days they shouldn’t be less than 90% of their birth weight. Malcolm was just at 90%. Now that Beth can get him some real milk, we’re going to try to feed him more often, and not let him sleep so much (That’s a hard one!)
