Apex trigger screencast
Apex triggers rock the house. I’ve been showing this stuff to lots of Salesforce.com implementers at the NTC conference the last few days and the reaction has always been the same: dropped jaws, and the question, “when is this going to production?”
Check out this screencast of how triggers can make Salesforce.com tons easier to use in the real-world example of Households. Tell me what you think!

That is awesome, Steve. We could really use just the functionality you demonstrated (when unfortunately we have to mark a member of a household as “deceased” and I want to be careful our newsletters don’t mention that person by name on the label). Do you have plans to package these triggers for those of us who don’t have the first clue how to write in Apex ourselves?

Steve, once again, you rock. Thank you for this!! What tool did you use to create the screencast, out of curiosity?

Thanks Marc. Can’t wait to see the amazing stuff you guys build in Apex! The complex case management apps are great candidates for it.

Steve, thanks for demonstrating this. It has far reaching implications and applications. The mind can only imagine what’s possible under the covers with a bit of Apex code and logic. The nonprofit world is going to be knocking on your door for such functionality. If it’s as easy to program as you describe, this is absolutely huge. Thanks again.

It makes amazing things possible. We’re entering the world of true application development on top of the Salesforce.com platform. Until Apex, we’ve been doing configuration with some pieces of custom app added on. Now we’ll be able to write real apps. Supre exciting!
