Cool Furniture

Thursday, June 2nd, 2005

This is what I call good furniture design. A cross between Dali and Family Guy, this table is (in)appropriate just about everywhere.

Natalie Oswald’s Tengbo

Saturday, July 24th, 2004

Tengbo now hangs at the end of our dining room table. We saw it hanging in a local business and I really liked it. The bombers and the obliviously fashionable women resonated with me and our current political situation. Thanks Potts for a great present! We hope to see more of Natalie’s work around town.

The House Continued

Monday, September 8th, 2003

The house is coming along. They are in the process of completing the new porch on the front. And they’re doing a lot of siding replacement where the existing siding was rotten or cracked. Only a few weeks left!

Remodel of the Exterior

Friday, August 8th, 2003

We’ve started a bunch of work on our house. When we bought it last year, the inspection showed we’d have to:

  • put a new roof on the house and shed

  • rebuild the front porch, which was rotten from top to bottom
  • clean out and button up the crawl space as it was a fairly popular location for the under 20 rodent set
  • paint the house and shed

We’re finally getting around to having the work done.

Upstairs Remodel

Friday, March 28th, 2003

In preparation for the arrival of Malcolm, we’ve been working on the upstairs. Other than lots of painting and new carpets, we re-jiggered two closets. The hall closet was modified to have a big sliding door. The bedroom closet was converted to a walk-in closet. This was the coolest part of the remodel. It’s a bit like a bank vault now…
