Frank In Uganda: Part 5

A friend of mine, Frank Ordway, has been working with the U of Washington and a few volunteers to help AIDS clinics in Africa migrate from paper-based systems to electronic ones. This series is made up of emails from Frank during his trip.
Parts: 1 2 3 4 5.

This is my final day here. It has been a great time and I feel very happy and satisfied with the work we have accomplished.

I am ready to come home.

The clinic is in better shape than we found it, we have a good plan for future assistance and Debika Shome from the UW has done a great job of documenting everything. The results will not only help the clinic, but other students in this year’s Humphrey Fellows program.

I cannot convey the overall kindness of the people here. Everyone I met, whether they were connected to the clinic or not, has been uniformly kind and helpful. They are very open and hopeful and seem to have faith in their future. It is amazing given the string of tragedies that have plagued this small country.

I leave with an immense amount of satisfaction in the work done here and a sense of humbleness and gratitude for even being able to take part in some small way in assisting the clinic.

Hope all is well with you all and I will see you soon.
