Package for Media Clippings
Here is a package for the media clipping functionality I’ve been talking about a lot lately.
It includes the Clipping object, with the YouTube video functionality. It also includes a Tab that will help you create the Bookmarklet to make the clipping of web articles a snap. I couldn’t make the Bookmarklet creation automatic because of some limitations in Salesforce, but the Tab makes it easier to create.
Leave a comment if you get stuck.

Thanks for sharing. Embedded YouTube and bookmarklets FTW!
One simple but powerful custom field that I’ve found very useful would be a Lookup(Contact) field called ‘About’. This is useful when doing donor or supporter research. So say there’s an article in the society pages about Rich Uncle Pennybags, who just gave a huge grant to a similar organization, but he’s only donated once to your organization. That would be a Good Thing to keep track of, and the Clippings Related List on Pennybag’s contact page lets you quickly see all press mentions on that supporter.

Steve- this looks great but does it work with IE7 or just Firefox? If it does work with IE, are there any differences in 3rd field of the setup?
Thanks

Luigi, that’s a great idea. I’ll definitely be using the About relationship.
There are a lot of other relationships that make sense as well. I relate clippings to Jurisdictions, Outcomes, etc. Appexchange packaging forces me to only relate to the standard objects if I want a simple package.
Sandra, I haven’t tested this with anything other than Firefox, sorry. If you run into any problems with IE, let me know.
