Cool stuff! Thanks. I’m in a “sort of southern suburb” of Milw. — Racine –and know Wauwatosa well. I doubt you’d see many Tosa for Peace signs there … But I’m going to print the Cheeseheads for Peace and pass it around! (If I spread it around, would it be called CheeseSpread for Peace?)

In this age of supposed tolerance of others I find the “Who Would Jesus Bomb” particularly offensive. Where are the similar signs for Buddahism, Mormanism, Islam, Catholicism, etc. Your right to protest our governments actions is one of the reasons this nation is so great, the freedom of speech we have, but to mock one’s religion is rude & unacceptable.

The Jesus piece is meant to point out the disconnect between the teaching of Jesus and the actions of some who identify themselves as Christians, namely our current administration. I was brought up in a Christian household and understand that Jesus would not bomb anyone. Yet, he is held up as the moral authority behind our military actions by Bush, Ashcroft, etc. I ask the question of you, who would he bomb? What death is acceptable in the promotion of peace?

As far as other religions, Budhists don’t bomb people, Mormon’s and Catholics are Christians, and Islam is constantly mocked by our press and governement, so I saw no need to point out the contradictions in their faith. Thanks for your comment.

Anything (Who would Jeseus bomb?) that mocks christian alighnment with war and pokes fun at he hypocrisy inherent is always welcome! What has always been, will always be…unfortunatly.

Thanks so much for the WWJB? poster. I saw it in the Stranger and now am gonna put some up here in Bellingham.

In regards to the ‘contradictions’, I think Steve has some very good points. I think this poster is utterly brilliant and poses a question to all Christian supporters of this war (though I personally don’t know any – even my 80 yr. old grandfather who fought on D-Day.

p.s. I hope none of you down in Ballard have seen anything like this, but I have to share. Last weekend I spotted downtown a car blaring ‘God Bless America’ (speaker on roof) and written on the side and rear, respectively, “Bomb ‘em Until We Run Out” and “Bomb ‘em Until They Glow and then Shoot ‘em in the Dark”. It just made me sick to my stomach.

Perhaps you haven’t read the Old Testament, or the Book of Revelations. It’s pretty clear that God often kills thousands of people for one reason or another. Also, the prophets of the Old Testament went to war many times, which also resulted in many deaths. To try and portray God and Jesus as an anti-war hippie simply doesn’t fit with the Bible.

Now the current war in Iraq, that’s a touchier subject. Would God approve of this or not? It’s
a very debateable subject.

Nice site. I am looking for links to our site http://www.peaceroots.org We are developing Signs For Peace, a site for designs and downloadables with links to sites like yours so that folks would have lots of choices and info about printing. Thanks so much. We put up 47 billboards around the country with the flag and the dove saying Peace Is Patriotic. We are working on designs in bumper stickers, yard signs, and billboards getting out the peace vote and reaching out to the folks who are confused. I like how your signs are mostly positive. One thing we must really inform our signmakers about is put on the sign what we want. There is enough out there put out by mainstream media that is what we don’t want.

I like the WWJB sign. so tender and insightful. Amazing how some folks are so blind to irony and peaceful messages. I have a couple of designs I will send you if you are interested. love,Eliz
