    Some poor intern in MS probably wrote somewhere: “Bruce Springsteen FTW”. Boss picked up on it and fowarded it upward. Ballmer thought it was “cool”, Ballmer endorsed and the rest was history. Probably complimented themselves on how flat their hierarchy was in the process.
